On July 4, 2024, national finals of MKM Cup 2024 Pharmaceutical Care Skills Competition hosted by Chinese Pharmacists Association concluded. Pharmacists Tang Lina and Xie Xinru from Department of Pharmacy of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) participated in the national finals on behalf of Shaanxi province in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei province. The team ranked the 6th among all 31 teams nationwide.
This competition consisted of three types of contents: prescription review, medication explanation and service case, and comprised three-round competitions including PK competition, elimination competition and points competition. Experts and professors from Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Beijing Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital affiliated to Nanjing University Medical School commented and scored for the contestants.
Zhang Yaohua, President of Chinese Pharmacists Association, Professor Dong Zhanjun from Hebei General Hospital, and Professor Zhao Zhigang from Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Chief Chairman of MKM Cup 2024 Pharmaceutical Care Skills Competition and other top-notched experts in the field of pharmacy were invited to deliver speeches, respectively.
Pharmaceutical Care Skills Competition has been hosted for 10 years, which establishes a broad stage for Chinese pharmacists to conduct academic and skill exchanges, offers an opportunity for every participant to better themselves in practice and surpass themselves during the process of overcoming challenges, and joins hands to promote overall improvement of pharmaceutical care levels in China.
