On March 22, the Cross-Strait face-to-face expert class for intravenous diagnosis and treatment was held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Professor Li Renguang from Department of Cardiology, National Taiwan University Hospital was invited to attend this class.
To deeply understand the essentials of "Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Deep Venous Thrombosis" and implement the spirit of the guidelines, Department of Peripheral Vessels of our hospital organized the Cross-Strait face-to-face expert class for intravenous diagnosis and treatment and invited Professor Li Renguang from Department of Cardiology of National Taiwan University Hospital to attend the class. Professor Li Renguang is currently an Attending Physician in Department of Cardiology of National Taiwan University Hospital. He specializes in hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, coronary artery catheter surgery and endovascular treatment of lower limb arterial occlusion. He has won theYoung Physician Research Award of Taiwan Society of Cardiology and the Excellent Thesis Award on Coronary Artery of Taiwan Society of Cardiovascular Interventions.
The theme of this class is "Cross-strait Work Together to Promote Vessel Health", aiming at strengthening the cross-strait exchange on clinical experience and protecting the vessel health of the public. The activities consisted of surgical session and academic exchange session. In the beginning of the meeting, difficult and complicated cases were proposed and discussed. Through case consultation, the experts exchanged ideas regarding the latest and the most widely-applied treatments and experiences in the field of peripheral vessels. Subsequently, Professor Li Renguang demonstrated the endovascular treatment for a patient with iliac vein compression syndrome and another patient with inferior vena cava obstruction. In the afternoon, Professor Li Renguang delivered an academic lecture on the concept and technique of iliac vein compression stenting, endovascular treatment of acute lower limb venous thrombosis-pulmonary embolism and endovascular technique of chronic lower limb venous thromboembolism under the new-edition guidelines.
