On March 30, 2024, the 8th training course of Northwest hhc Cognitive Impairment College-Academic Meeting of New Progress in Diagnosis and Treatment of Alzheimer's disease in conjunction with Training Course for Cognitive Impairment Diagnosis and Treatment Capability, hosted by Shaanxi Province Health Care Association and organized by National Core Advanced Cognitive Impairment Center of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was successfully held in Shangri-La Hotel, Xi'an.
In the morning, special lecture session on the progress in diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease was carried out. Professor Jia Jianjun from the General Hospital of PLA, Professor Zhao Xinyu from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, Professor Zhang Yi from Gansu Provincial Hospital, Professor Cheng Kaiting from Guangzhou Medical University and Professor Wang Jin from Department of Neurology of FAH were invited to give speeches regarding the molecular imaging, modification therapy and application of biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease, respectively.
After the lecture session, Professor Qu Qiumin from Department of Neurology of FAH chaired the session of "Expert Face-to-face Discussion". Professor Zhang Qing from the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University, Professor Zhang Xiaoying from the General Hospital of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Professor Liu Zhirong from Xijing Hospital, Professor Du Ying from Tangdu Hospital and Professor Zhang Hong from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital were invited to discuss the efficacy, safety, start-stop time, patient screening and biomarker detection of modification treatment for Alzheimer's disease. All experts highly recognized the modification treatment for Alzheimer's disease, hoping that Lencanumab could become a new powerful weapon in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Blood biomarkers are undoubtedly an effective choice for early and accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, hoping that joint efforts can be coordinated to standardize and reasonably carry out the detection of blood biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease.
In the afternoon, the Training Course for Cognitive Impairment Diagnosis and Treatment Capability was held. PhD Liu Jie, Professor Wang Jin and Professor Lu Wenhui from Department of Neurology of FAH gave special lectures entitled Standardized Diagnosis of Cognitive Impairment, Drug Selection for Cognitive Impairment and Identification and Management of BPSD, respectively. Three doctoral students shared three intriguing clinical cases.
Professor Qu Qiumin, Chairman of the meeting and President of Northwest hhc Cognitive Impairment College, expressed heartfelt thanks to all the experts and the committee team for their hard work in the concluding remark. He stressed that FAH, as National Core Advanced Cognitive Impairment Diagnosis and Treatment Center and National Cognitive Impairment Diagnosis and Treatment Capability Training Base, will fulfill our mission, persistently play a leading and demonstration role, and make due contributions to the prevention and treatment of cognitive impairment in northwest China!
