On March 30, 2024, "CSCO Neuroendocrine Neoplasm Frontier Forum in conjunction with the 4th Annual Meeting of Professional Committee of Neuroendocrine Neoplasm of Sichuan Cancer Society" was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan province. The forum gathers Chinese experts and scholars in neuroendocrine neoplasm to discuss the latest research results and clinical practical experience in this field. During this meeting, the finals of the 2nd National Case Competition was held simultaneously. After fierce competition, Associate Professor Li Wei from Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) successfully advanced to the finals of National Case Competition and grabbed the national championship. This honor not only recognizes the capability of Associate Professor Li Wei, but also affirms the overall strength of Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Multi-Disciplinary Treatment (MDT) team in FAH.
A total of 91 outstanding players from well-known hospitals and cancer research institutions nationwide participated in this competition. The competition was divided into preliminaries, semi-finals and finals, including 14 preliminaries and 4 semi-finals.


Associate Professor Li Wei outshined in the preliminaries and semi-finals, and successfully advanced to the finals with the first place.

In the finals, Associate Professor Li Wei shared clinical diagnosis, pathological diagnosis, imaging diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of patients with neuroendocrine neoplasm, highlighting the importance and necessity of MDT diagnosis and treatment. His intriguing presentation and unique insights brought new thoughts and inspirations to all participants. He received unanimous recognition and approval from the judges and audience, and finally grabbed the national championship. The frontier forum and case competition not only provide an exchange and study platform for experts and scholars in the field of neuroendocrine neoplasm, but also elevate academic status and clinical practice capability of FAH in this field.
