On October 13, 2023, Shaanxi Province Pharmacist Vocational Skills Competition was held in Xi'an, which was jointly hosted by Shaanxi Province Education, Culture, Health and Sports Union and Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Association, and organized by the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Twenty medical affiliations from Shaanxi province participated in the competition, and directors of pharmaceutical departments of tertiary hospitals in Shaanxi province were invited to serve as the judges. Xia Mingwen, Vice Chairman of Shaanxi Province Education, Culture, Health and Sports Union, Feng Lei, Chief Consultant of Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Association, Wang Maode, Executive Vice President of the FAH of XJTU, expert judges, and the teams and colleagues from Ankang, Baoji, Huayin, Hanzhong, Shangluo, Tongchuan, Weinan, Xi'an, Xianyang and Yan'an in Shaanxi province attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was chaired by Feng Weiyi, Director of Department of Pharmacy of the FAH of XJTU.
Wang Maode delivered a speech on behalf of the organizer, hoping to take this competition as an opportunity to build a skills exchange platform for the pharmacists, give full play to the exemplary and leading role of skills competition in professional skills learning, and make contributions to solidly promoting pharmaceutical service capabilities, improving the level of rational drug use, and safeguarding people's health. Subsequently, Feng Lei and Xia Mingwen delivered respective speeches.
Liu Yin, as the representative judge, and Xiao Fei from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, as the contestant representative, took the oath, respectively. Based on the actual working scene of pharmacists, the competition contents consist of the skills of prescription review, pharmacy outpatient and medication consultation related to Department of Pharmacy in hospitals. The judges scored each contestant according to the accuracy and completeness of the answer, the ability to collect information, humanistic communication and expression and analysis. The contestants completed the assessment calmly and carefully, and showcased their solid professional quality to the fullest. The judges and experts were meticulous and rigorous, fully affirmed excellent performance of the contestants, and also recognized the fairness and rigor of this competition.
After fierce competition, the FAH of XJTU received the top group prize. Zhang Lu and Li Pengfei from the FAH grabbed the top individual prize and the first prize, respectively. Yao Lemeng from the East District of the FAH received the third prize.
Finally, Wang Mimi, Director of the Youth Working Committee of the Trade Union, and Feng Weiyi delivered concluding speeches, hoping that through this competition, the professional skills of pharmacists can be further improved, and the common development in the pharmaceutical field can be strengthened. They also encouraged more pharmacists to participate in this competition, and more people to pay attention to the pharmacist profession and contribute to vigorous development in the pharmaceutical field.
