“Our dream has come true!”, expressed by Henry, an obstetrician from Kamuzu Central Hospital of Malawi, and this summer was full of expectations and challenges to him.

The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University welcomed the arrival ofHenry and four other doctors from the Obstetrics Department and Pediatric Department of Malawi, where they will receive two-month training. This training, an important part of the China-Malawi Maternal and Child Health Program, is expected to improve the first-aid and diagnosis & treatment capability of the participants, thus promoting the maternal and child healthcare capability and medical level of Malawi.

The last decade witnessed China's strong support in helping develop the medical and health undertakings in Malawi through various methods, such as sending medical teams, providing opportunities of studying in China and short-term trainings for the practitioners in medical and health industry of Malawi. By the end of the first half of 2018, China has sent 101 medical workers in 6 medical teams to Malawi. They are at the forefront of promoting the medical and health undertakings in Malawi, and become the ambassadors in white to build up the friendship between the people of these two countries.
