On August 27, 2018, China-US Forum on Pressure Injury was held in our hospital, attracting following participants, including Xin Xia, Director of Nursing Department, Qiao Lina, Chief Nurse and Chief Head Nurse of General Surgery Zone, and Zhang Linjuan, Deputy Director of Anesthesia and Operation Department, as well as pressure sore managers from all departments of the whole hospital.

In order to enhance further development of chain management of pressure injury in our hospital, the Department of Operation with Anesthesia specially invited CWOCN (Certificated Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse) Ms Melody from Cone Health Medical Group for professional communication and exchanges. As a CWOCN in Cone Health Medical Group, Ms Melody had worked as a full-time CWOCN for 10 years and accumulated working experiences in multiple clinical departments, including the ICU, operating room and home care. The exchange this time mainly involved two problems: 1. Exploration on ward – operating room – ICU chain management mode of pressure injury; 2. Application of cluster nursing measures in the prevention of pressure injury caused in the operating room. After the exchange activity, Deputy Director Zhang Linjuan explained the evaluation and prevention of pressure injury caused in the operating room in detail. Then both parties had made thorough exchanges and discussions.

This forum promoted the exchanges between our hospital and the international peers in terms of pressure injury and laid a solid foundation for subsequent work in the field of pressure injury.
