On July 22, 2023, Chinese Myasthenia Gravis Alliance (Shaanxi Alliance) was formally established in the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Professor Zhang Guangjian from Department of Thoracic Surgery served as the Chairman of Shaanxi Alliance.

Professor Zhi Xiuyi, Chairman of China Lung Cancer Union, Professor Liu Yangchun, Chairman of Chinese Myasthenia Gravis Alliance, Professor Zhang Qingyong from Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Li Xiaofei, President of Chest Hospital of Xi'an International Medical Center, Professor Li Zhuyi and Professor Chang Ting from Department of Neurology of Tangdu Hospital Affiliated to Air Force Medical University, and Professor Li Zunbo from Department of Neurology of Xi 'an Gaoxin Hospital were invited to attend the meeting. Experts in thoracic surgery and neurology in Shaanxi province also attended the meeting.

Under the guidance of Chinese Myasthenia Gravis Alliance, Shaanxi Myasthenia Gravis Alliance was established relying on the FAH of XJTU, which consisted of experts in neurology, thoracic surgery and other disciplines in Shaanxi province, aiming to jointly promote standardized diagnosis and treatment of myasthenia gravis.

During the plaque-presenting ceremony, Chinese Myasthenia Gravis Alliance (Shaanxi Alliance) led by Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital was formally established. Moreover, the first academic conference was officially held. Multiple experts and professors witnessed the plaque-presenting ceremony of Shaanxi Myasthenia Gravis Alliance both in-person and online. Experts and scholars in Shaanxi and other provinces discussed current status of diagnosis and treatment, scientific research progress and future development trend of myasthenia gravis.

In the first session of academic conference, Professor Liu Yangchun mainly illustrated the history, current status and future prospect of surgical treatment of myasthenia gravis. Professor Zhang Qingyong shared the experience and latest progress in the treatment of myasthenia gravis. In the second session, Professor Chang Ting introduced new evidence, new target and new regimen of medical treatment of myasthenia gravis. Professor Li Zunbo shared the experience in the prevention and treatment of myasthenia gravis crisis. In the third session, Professor Wu Qifei from Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital highlighted surgical procedures, and discussed the development status of thymic surgery, difficult and complicated surgical regimens, especially the key issues of radical resection of invasive thymoma. Finally, Professor Fu Junke, disciplinary leader of Department of Thoracic Surgery, delivered a concluding speech.
