Vascular Conference of Peking Union Medical College Hospital in conjunction with the 21st Vascular and Endovascular Conference of China (VEC), hosted by Chinese Association of Microcirculation, Asia-Pacific Angiology Academic Alliance (APA) and Department of Vascular Surgery of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, were held in Beijing from May 11 to 13, 2023. Department of Vascular Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was invited as an important affiliation to attend the conference.
Academician Zhao Yupei, Academician Wang Zhonghao, Academician Zhan Qimin and Academician Zhang Xue of Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches, respectively. Director Lu Shaoying, Professor Liu Jianlin, Professor Feng Jun, Professor Yang Lin and Head Nurse Zhou Hongyan from the FAH were invited to deliver intriguing presentations, sharing the hospital’s clinical experience in the diagnosis, treatment and nursing care of related diseases in Department of Vascular Surgery to vascular surgeons nationwide. As a core Chinese journal in science and technology, Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery is an authoritative academic journal in the field of vascular surgery, leading the development trend of vascular surgery across China. During the editorial board meeting of Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Director Lu Shaoying was elected as Deputy Editor-in-Chief. In the new election of International Nursing Branch of APA, Head Nurse Zhou Hongyan was successfully elected as Vice President.
Department of Vascular Surgery of the FAH is one of the few independent vascular surgery specialties in China. Since the establishment in 2015, the department made tremendous efforts to create innovative achievements and resolve challenging issues under the leadership of Director Liu Jianlin and Director Lu Shaoying, paving a new way for the diagnosis and treatment of related diseases in vascular surgery in northwest China. Meantime, the academic influence of Department of Vascular Surgery has been gradually strengthened day by day. The important academic positions obtained by Director Lu Shaoying and Head Nurse Zhou Hongyan represent that both domestic and international vascular surgeons highly recognize the level of vascular surgery discipline in the FAH.
