On the evening of April 27, 2023, the inaugural meeting of Professional Committee of Lung Cancer of China Health Promotion Foundation in conjunction with Seminar on Comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment of Lung Cancer were held online. Professor Yao Yu from Department of Oncology of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was appointed as Chairman of Professional Committee of Lung Cancer of China Health Promotion Foundation. Professor Tian Tao was elected as the Standing Committee Member and Secretary-general. Professor Guo Hui and Professor He Wangxiao were elected as the Standing Committee Members. Professor Zhang Guangjian from Department of Thoracic Surgery was elected as Vice Chairman.

China Health Promotion Foundation, approved by the State Council of People's Republic of China (PRC) and governed by National Health Commission, was officially registered as a national charity organization by Ministry of Civil Affairs on December 18, 2006. In recent years, China Health Promotion Foundation has been dedicated to carrying out health promotion activities, promoting the development of health career and serving to enhance the health quality of the Chinese people.

In recent years, under the leadership of Professor Yao Yu and with the cooperation and support from departments related to lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, multidisciplinary team (MDT) diagnosis and treatment team of lung cancer has become the role model in tumor diagnosis and treatment in the FAH, enjoying high reputation in China. Multiple professors serve in Professional Committee of Lung Cancer of China Health Promotion Foundation, which not only represents the support and recognition of China Health Promotion Foundation and national peers in the field of lung cancer for the lung cancer diagnosis and treatment capability in FAH, but also showcases the academic influence of the hospital nationwide, fully demonstrating outstanding achievements and academic status of the hospital in the field of lung cancer throughout China.

Professor Yao Yu highlighted that Professional Committee of Lung Cancer will persistently target the frontiers of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, regard precision, innovation, collaboration and sharing as the starting points, take China Health Promotion Foundation as the platform, give full play to the expertise of each expert, and vigorously conduct relevant academic exchanges, clinical research, talent training, patient education, popular science publicity and other activities, aiming to making due contribution to driving the development of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment in China!
