On March 15, 2023, the appointment ceremony of Honorary Director of Department of Oncology was held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Party Secretary Ma Xinge, Assistant-to-President Han Jianfeng, heads of relevant departments, Wang Jie, Honorary Director of Department of Oncology, Yao Yu, Director of Department of Oncology, discipline leader Li Enxiao and staff representatives of relevant departments attended the appointment ceremony.
The appointment ceremony was chaired by Deputy Party Secretary Feng Guanglin. He stressed that Professor Wang Jie, Director of Department of Oncology of Cancer Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Tenured Professor appointed by Peking Union Medical College of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, is the discipline leader and pioneer of precision diagnosis and treatment of tumors in China. She has taken the lead in establishing a precision diagnosis and treatment system for lung cancer with non-invasive molecular typing worldwide, enjoying high reputation in this field at home and abroad. Under the guidance and assistance of Professor Wang Jie, Department of Oncology will definitely create novel breakthroughs and assist the construction of National Medical Center of our hospital.
Subsequently, Party Secretary Ma Xinge presented the letter of appointment and wore the badge to Professor Wang Jie.
On behalf of Department of Oncology, Director Yao Yu gave a speech and appreciated Professor Wang Jie for the appointment as Honorary Director. She highlighted that Professor Wang Jie has constantly supported and paid attention to the development of oncology in our hospital, and delivered explicit guidance and assistance in the application of National Regional Cancer Center and the quality control of three types of lung cancer of National Cancer Center,etc. It is believed that under the support and leadership of Professor Wang Jie, Department of Oncology will absolutely obtain leap-forward development and further strengthen the competitiveness and influence of our hospital in the field of precision tumor treatment.
Professor Li Enxiao, also the discipline leader, indicated that at the critical stage of upward development of the discipline, we should take full advantage of the influence and academic leadership of Professor Wang Jie to drive the advancement of Department of Oncology.
Professor Wang Jie stated that it was great honor to be appointed as Honorary Director of Department of Oncology of our hospital. The hospital is sparing no efforts to establish a National Medical Center, which has built a platform for high-quality development of both the hospital and discipline. The hospital and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences have established long-term close collaboration, especially in clinical research, clinical practice and translational research. It is hoped that we can work together to elevate the capability and influence of Department of Oncology and cultivate potent teams and talents, making due contribution to improving the oncology specialty levelin northwest China and promoting the development of oncology treatment in China.
