From November 14 to 19, 2022, the 1st Sino-Japanese Exchange Forum on Urology in conjunction with Training Course of New Technology of Precision Diagnosis and Treatment of Bladder Tumor, Training Course of Advances in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Nursing in Urology and Training Course of Advances in Nursing Management for Urinary System Diseases, hosted by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), were held in Xi 'an. The forum was held online and in-person. Professor Li Lei, President of the forum, invited more than 50 prestigious urology experts from Japan, Beijing, Guangzhou, Sichuan, Henan and Shanxi provinces to attend the forum, which consisted of demonstration of core bladder cancer surgery, flexible cystoscopy and nursing care for urostomy, multiple online popular science lectures for patients, multidisciplinary team (MDT) diagnosis and treatment (MDT) lectures and academic exchanges between urology experts from China and Japan, etc.
During the first four days of the forum, Professor Fan Jinhai, Professor Wu Kaijie, Physician Liu Sheng and Deputy Head Nurse Bai Xiaojing demonstrated laparoscopic radical cystectomy + ileal cystectomy, transurethral laser enucleation of bladder tumor, transurethral resection of bladder tumor, flexible/rigid cystoscopy, ureteroscopic double-J tube insertion/removal, bladder perfusion therapy, nursing care for ileal bladder/ureterostomy, respectively. Meantime, two online popular science lectures with the theme of "New pattern of reexamination and follow-up nursing care for bladder tumor" were organized, attracting more than 1,000 patients and their families.
On November 18, experts from relevant departments of our hospital were invited to deliver serial academic reports on new technology of MDT diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer. Besides, Meng Xiaohong from Shanghai Renji Hospital, Li Qin from Xijing Hospital of Air Force Medical University and nursing experts from Nursing Department of our hospital were also invited to give academic reports on clinical nursing of bladder cancer.
On November 19, the 1st Sino-Japanese Exchange Forum on Urology in conjunction with Exchange Meeting of Day Surgery for Urology in the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU were held online. At the meeting, Day Surgery Alliance was established with our hospital as the core affiliation. Professor Rikiya Taoka, a prestigious urologist from the Affiliated Hospital of Faculty of Medicine of Kagawa University, was specially invited to contribute a lecture entitled "Treatment strategy for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer in Japan", discussing the differences and experience of clinical diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer between China and Japan. During surgical demonstration session, Professor Liang Liang, Professor Fan Jinhai, Professor Yang Lin and Professor Wu Kaijie from Department of Urology of our hospital demonstrated transperineal prostate puncture, flexible cystoscopy, laser enucleation of bladder tumor, laser vaporization of prostate and radical cystectomy, respectively.
The training course covers a wide range of topics in diverse forms, MDT diagnosis and treatment as well as the combination of theory with practice. Finally, Director Li Lei delivered a concluding speech.
