On July 3, 2017, the hospital held the opening ceremony forthe Ward 5 of Jianyuan & International Medical Centerin Conference Room 2 at 8/F of East Building 1, and the ceremony was hosted by Secretary Geng Jianping of the hospital.

Dean Shi Bingyin delivered a welcoming speech and expressed that, in recent years, Xi’an has been accelerating its pace to an open and modern international metropolis, and more and more foreign companies and people have been coming to Xi’an. In order to take the initiative to adapt to the development of the situation and meet the overall demands, the hospital set up the first international medical center equipped with first-class medical service, inpatient wards, equipment and instruments in Shaanxi Province after more than a year of preparation and integration of high-quality resources. The ward can provide the best medical service and medical experience foroversea patientsin Shaanxi. The ward is expected to become a window of foreign-related medical treatment in Shaanxi and Xi’an, to show the world the continuously improved medical technology and service level of the hospital, meet more diversified medical needs, and make contributions to the optimization of foreign-related service environment and the improvement of internationalization level of Xi’an.

Zhao Lan, member of Party Committee of Shaanxi Health and Family Planning Commission and Director of Bureau of Health Care, expressed that the ward had successfully completed the health care missions for party and state leaders, foreign heads of states, and leaders of central ministries and commissions during their visiting to Shaanxi and participating in important meetings and major activities since its establishment. The tough and dedicative health care team won highpraise for health care workers of our province. The establishment and opening of the Ward 5 of Jianyuan & International Medical Center further filled the gap of foreign-related inpatient area for medical and health care in our province, and improved the medical environment for foreign friends and foreigners. He believed that the hospital would unite wholeheartedly to provide more exquisite medical technology and medical service for foreign friends in our province.

Zhao Changchang,Deputy Secretary of CPC and Secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection of Xi’an Jiaotong University, expressed that the formal opening of the Ward 5 of Jianyuan & International Medical Centeris a new approach to internationalization development explored by the hospital based in China with global visions under the guidance of the strategic deployment “Health China”, so as to implement the development idea of “The Belt and Road” and “Double First-Class” goal of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and provide health services for Chinese people. He expected that the hospital could implement the international general treatment standards and procedures of foreign-related medical services as soon as possible by virtue of the teaching and research platform of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and the technical strength and management level of the Hospital. He also expected that the Hospital could focus on patients, conform to the habits and requirements for diagnosis and treatment of high-level foreign talents, establish the appropriate policies, systems and processes, and persistently improve the overall medical quality, so as to take solid steps for realizing the vision of becoming a world-class affiliated hospital.
