The 1st lecture of IN TALK: Special session at Ghent University in Belgium

On the afternoon of June 1, 2022, International Exchange Office of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) delivered an online connection with Ghent University in Belgium, representing the 1st lecture in a series of activities of TALK.

Professor Zhang Weihong in Public Health from Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Ghent University in Belgium, Zhang Chi, Chief Representative of Ghent University in China, Ye Feng, Deputy Director of Medical Department and Director of Infectious Disease Control Office, Ren Hui, Deputy Director of International Exchange Office, Yang Nan, Associate Researcher from Department of Infectious Diseases and relevant staff from International Exchange Office of FAH attended the exchange meeting. The meeting was chaired by Ren Hui.

Professor Zhang Weihong shared the basic profile of Ghent University. Ye Feng and Yang Nan introduced the construction of Public Health and Department of Infectious Diseases and the demand for international communication, respectively. Bilateral sides exchanged views regarding potential areas of cooperation, hoping to establish a comprehensive cooperation mechanism in joint talent training, launching scientific research projects and building joint laboratory in the future.

IN of IN Talk refers to both International and Integration, signifying the goal of the FAH to build world-class disciplines in all areas. IN Talk serial activities will give full play to the role of international exchange and cooperation center platform, integrate international visions and views, bring together the strengths of all parties, contribute to the construction of National Medical Center, and promote international development of the hospital and disciplines.
