On November 5, Edison Liu, President and CEO of the Jackson Laboratory in the U.S., led a delegation to visit our hospital for a 3-day academic exchange and tour, accompanied by Charles Lee, Director of the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine, and Zhang Youhui, Senior Director of Strategy for Asian Studies of the Jackson Laboratory.

On the morning of November 6, Professor Edison Liu delivered an academic lecture entitled "Systems Oncology for Breast Cancer". Shi Bingyin, President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Zhang Chengsheng, Director of Cancer Center of our hospital, Li Enxiao, Director of Oncology Department of our hospital, Liu Enqi, Director of Animal Center of XJTU Health Science Center, Professor Ye Kai from School of Electronic and Information Engineering of XJTU and Ren Hui, Deputy Director of International Exchange Office of our hospital attended the lecture. In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Innovation Port. Professor Edison Liu was astonished by the vastness and grand blueprint of the Innovation Port. He expressed that the Innovation Port will be a window for innovation integration by XJTU and expected our hospital can take this opportunity to carry out cross-disciplinary research in medicine, engineering and information sciences, achieving new success in scientific research.

On November 7, Wang Shuguo, President of XJTU, met with Professor Edison Liu and his delegation and briefly introduced the long and arduous development history of XJTU. He also expected deeper cooperation in medicine between the Jackson Laboratory and XJTU. Professor Edison Liu expressed high expectation of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between two sides in the future.

This visit by Professor Edison Liu not only reviews and consolidates previous cooperation between two sides, but plays a positive in the exploration for future cooperation.
