On April 27, the appointment ceremony of Chen Zhaolong, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering granted as Professor of Xi 'an Jiaotong University was held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University. Yan Hong, Vice President of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, Lyu Yi, Assistant to President of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, Professor Pan Cheng'en of our hospital, Deputy Secretary Feng Guanglin, Assistant to President She Junjun, Huang Yanping, Director of Teaching Department, Liu Huasheng, Deputy Director of Teaching Department, Secretary and Director of Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, graduate students and standardized training students were invited to attend the appointment ceremony. The appointment ceremony was presided over by Liu Qingguang, Vice President of our hospital.
The appointment of Chen Zhaolong, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering as Professor of Xi’an Jiaotong University is a grand event for both our hospital and Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery. Academician Chen Zhaolong will play a significant role in the disciplinary construction, talent training and technological upgrading of our hospital, definitely drive the development and soaring of liver transplantation in our hospital to become a milestone in the history of hepatobiliary surgery. Besides, Academician Chen Zhaolong will provide tremendous assistance to all aspects of work in our hospital.
Academician Chen Zhaolong introduced the exchange and cooperation between his team and Renji Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and the achievements made by Renji Hospital. The appointment of Academician Chen Zhaolong as Professor of our university will play a pivotal role in talent training, disciplinary construction, technological upgrading, application for state key laboratories and major scientific research projects for Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of our hospital and carry out concrete basic and clinical research in relevant fields, thereby contributing to the development of Xi 'an Jiaotong University.
After the appointment ceremony, Academician Chen Zhaolong was invited to deliver a brilliant academic lecture entitled "Cultivation and social care of a medical worker". Afterwards, he had a heated academic discussion with the students and answered their questions explicitly and patiently.
On April 26, Academician Chen Zhaolong visited Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Inpatient Wards and Surgical ICU of our hospital and held cordial discussions with the medical staff of the department.
