On the afternoon of March 12, 2024, Markos Arzumanyan, the representative of Lomonosov Moscow State University in China, along with his colleagues of Liu Dingquan, Wang Li and Gao Fang, paid a visit to the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), aiming to obtain comprehensive understanding of the development status and cooperation needs of medical colleges/universities and affiliated hospitals of bilateral sides and further deepen the cooperation in medical and health care between two sides.

Accompanied by Liu Qing, Director of Outpatient Department, Deputy Head Nurse Fan Rong, and Physician Tan Yuwei from International Patient Wards, the delegation from Moscow State University in China visited the outpatient pharmacy, cashier counter, blood collection room, international outpatient and international patient ward, etc., and inquired about the daily number of admissions and blood collection, the use of integrated self-service machines, medical services of international outpatient, hardware facilities of international patient wards, and the allocation of medical staff, etc.

Subsequently, the representatives from Moscow State University and International Exchange and Cooperation Center of FAH held a discussion and exchange meeting in Science and Education Building. At the meeting, Deputy Director Yao Hongmei mainly introduced the overall development, advantageous disciplines and international exchanges and cooperation of FAH. Bilateral sides delivered in-depth discussion regarding the specialized fields potentially cooperated in the future and the direction of cooperation and exchange from medical technology, scientific research and talent training.

Markos Arzumanyan stressed that this visit offered deeper understanding of the development scale, comprehensive strength and social responsibilities of FAH, hoping that bilateral sides can join hands to fully promote all-round, multi-level and large-scale cooperation between China and Russia in the medical and health field.

Through this visit and exchange, bilateral sides reached an initial agreement on the cooperation consensus, and planned to hold three online exchange meetings focusing on the cooperation of advantageous specialties, research and development of medical technology, and innovative talent training in the near future, aiming to make concrete plans for substantive cooperation in medicine, teaching and research.
