On the morning of February 13, 2023, 2022 Summary Meeting for the Returned Foreign Aid Medical Team of Shaanxi Province was held in Xi 'an. Yu Liping, Deputy Director of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, DingLi, Deputy Director of Xi'an Municipal Health Commission, all members of the 36th batch of medical aid team to Sudan and the 8th and 9th batches of medical aid teams to Malawi, and relevant representatives from appointed affiliations attended the meeting. Feng Guanglin, Deputy Party Secretary of our hospital, Liu Jia, Deputy Director of Department of Human Resources, Li Xiaogang, Deputy Chief Physician from Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and Head of the 8th batch of medical aid team to Malawi, and Tian Juan, Attending Physician from Department of Rheumatology and Immunology participated in the activity.
As the Head of the 8th batch of medical aid team to Malawi, Physician Li Xiaogang gave an explicit report on the medical team’s work from three aspects including the basic situation, main work and counterpart hospitals.
As the leading affiliation of the 8th batch of medical aid team to Malawi, Deputy Party Secretary Feng Guanglin delivered a speech and shared experience on behalf of our hospital. He highlighted that by the end of 2022, our hospital had sent 38 batches of foreign aid medical teams with a total staff of 132. Our hospital strengthened organization and leadership, adhered to education and training, fully devoted to caring all team members, and encouraged the cadres and workers to remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind. In the future, our hospital will continually offer care and support for foreign medical aid work, send more outstanding medical team members to provide multi-level and multi-form medical assistance to the recipient countries, bring benefit to the local people with benevolence, tell China’s story accurately and widely with concrete actions, and make greater contributions to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for human health.
At the meeting, honorary certificates were presented to the commended members of the 36th batch of medical aid team to Sudan and the 8th and 9th batches of medical aid teams to Malawi. The 8th batch of medical aid team to Malawi was awarded as the Outstanding Team in Foreign Medical Aid in 2020 and 2021 by National Health Commission. Li Xiaogang, Tian Juan and Zhu Huachao from our hospital received the honorarytitle of "Excellent Team Member".
Yu Liping, Deputy Director of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, fully recognized the achievements of three medical teams, and required the appointed affiliations in Shaanxi province to implement the wellfare and guarantee of medical team members in accordance with relevant policy. He hoped that the returned medical team members play a "mentoring" role and inherit and carry forward the spirit of China's foreign medical aid, and required the appointed affiliations to accumulate work experience, continually strengthen the guarantee work, and complete foreign medical aid work with concrete actions in Shaanxi province.
