The Clinical Robotic Surgery Association 16th Worldwide Congress was successfully held in Los Angeles, California, USA, from November 20 to 22, 2025. Professor Wu Zheng, Director of the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was invited by the organizing committee to attend the congress. He delivered a presentation titled “Minimally Invasive vs Open DPPHR Procedure for Chronic Pancreatitis: the Xiyi Team Experience”, in which he systematically shared the Xiyi Pancreas Team’s institutional experience and interim results with minimally invasive and open duodenum-preserving pancreatic head resection (DPPHR) for chronic pancreatitis, showcasing the FAH’s latest practice in standardized surgical treatment of chronic pancreatitis and exploration of minimally invasive techniques.

One week earlier, the 56th Annual Meeting of the American Pancreatic Association (APA) was held in San Diego, California, USA, from November 12 to 15, 2025. The Xiyi Pancreas Team was invited to attend. Led by Professor Han Liang, the team presented multiple research achievements at the conference. Five high-quality research abstracts from the team were selected for poster presentation, covering advances in clinical diagnosis and treatment techniques and novel surgical procedures, and further extending into basic research fields such as the pathogenesis of pancreatic cancer, regulation of the tumor immune microenvironment, and screening of molecular markers. The research work of two PhD candidates, Zeng Jiahui and Chen Xinlong, under the supervision of Professor Wang Zheng, together with the research of Master’s student Wang Fangzhou under the supervision of Professor Wu Zheng, were each awarded the honor of “Poster of Distinction”.

During the conferences, the Xiyi Pancreas Team engaged in discussions with internationally renowned scholars on key issues in basic research and clinical practice related to pancreatic diseases, and held preliminary talks on potential future collaborations. These exchanges further facilitated the team’s alignment with the international forefront, broadened its academic horizons, and significantly enhanced its reputation and influence in the global field of pancreatic research.
