The 10th World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) Conference China was held on October 15, 2016 in Xi’an. Sponsored by WFH and Chinese hemophilia cooperative group, it was a national level academic conference undertook by Hematology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Hematology Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Chinese Journal of Hematology with about 400 attendees including hematologists from Netherlands, Canada and America and medical personnel nationwide.
Professor Zhang Mei, Chairman of the conference, Director of Shaanxi Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Hemophilia, Director of Hematology Department of our hospital, delivered the opening speech and hosted the conference. She also extended sincere welcome to domestic and foreign experts and counterparts. Then speeches were delivered by Dutch Professor Marijke van den Berg, Vice Chairman of World Federation of Hemophilia, Professor Hu Yu, Deputy Director of the committee of Society of Hematology of Chinese Medical Association, Leader of thrombus and hemostasis group, Vice President of Wuhan Union Hospital, Professor Yang Renchi, Leader of Chinese hemophilia cooperative group, hematology research institute of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences respectively. They extended warm congratulations on the opening of the conference and wished a complete success.
The academic lectures were held by domestic and foreign experts such as Dutch Professor Marijke van den Berg, Vice Chairman of World Federation of Hemophilia, Professor Man-Chiu Poon and Professor Adrienne Lee from School of Medicine of University of Calgary, American Professor Greig Blamey, Professor Zhao Yongqiang from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Professor Sun Jing from Nanfang Hospital, Professor Wang Xufeng from Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, Professor Wu Jingsheng from Anhui Provincial Hospital and Professor Yang Renchi from Hematology Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The contents involved new therapies and clinical research progress of hemophilia, progress of prevention and treatment of hemophilia, new practice in laboratory diagnosis of hemorrhagic diseases, latest developments and prospects of global individualized treatment, progress of diagnosis and treatment of acquired hemophilia. With wonderful, rich, cutting-edge and practical contents in the lectures, strong academic atmosphere and active discussion of attendees, the conference obtained good effects and complete success.
As the 1st national academic conference after the establishment of Shaanxi hemophilia center, it is not only an academic conference but also serves publicity function for hematology department, Shaanxi Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Hemophilia and the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University.
