Department of Cardiac Surgery and Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital jointly completed a mitral valvoplasty and pulmonary bubble wedge resection with robot technique.
Days ago, under the assistance of the Extracorporeal Circulation Division, Echocardiography Room, Endoscopy Center and Anesthesia Team, the Department of Cardiac Surgery and Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital jointly completed a domestic advanced mitral valvoplasty and pulmonary bubble wedge resection with robot technique. The successful implementation of this operation combined the interdisciplinary advantages and reflected the efficient teamwork spirit between clinical departments of our hospital.
In the past, such cases were mainly treated with thoracotomy. In this operation, Professor Yan Yang, Professor Zhang Guangjian and their surgical team completed the mitral valve formation, neoplasm elimination and bullous resection at the same time with robot technique, which reduced the pain of the patient and postoperative complications, and also gave full play to the advantages of minimally invasive surgery, thus promoting the postoperative rehabilitation and improving the quality of life.
It is known that Da Vinci surgical robot system has been widely used in many departments of our hospital, to carry out surgical operations of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, the Department of Thoracic Surgery, the Urology Department, the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, the Department of General Surgery and the E.N.T. Department. “Treating patients at minimal trauma with the most advanced technology” is the pursuit of every physician and also the direction toward which the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University has been making great efforts.
