Yang Jian currently serves as the Director of the Department of Radiology (including PET/CT) of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Director of the accompanying base, and the doctoral supervisor of Department of Radiology and biomedical engineering. He is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Hong Kong and was selected to the “New Century Excellent Talent Support Program of the Ministry of Education” in 2011. He graduated from the former Xi'an Medical University in 1993 and 1998, and obtained a bachelor's degree in clinical medicine and a master's degree in imaging medicine, respectively, and graduated from the School of Life Science and Technology of Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2004 with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the BISP-7T MRI Center of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the University of Hong Kong.

Yang Jian has published more than 100 papers in important journals at home and abroad. Among them, more than 50 papers have been includedin SCI, and more than 30 SCI papers have been published in internationally renowned publications such as Radiology and NeuroImage as the first author and correspondent author. He presided over one of the key projects of the 13th Five-Year Ministry of Science and Technology, was responsible for 5 National Natural Science Funds and 2 provincial and ministerial-level projects. He leads a team to set up the ITPNBDI (Image Technique & Prediction for Neonatal Brain Development & Injury) working group, which is dedicated to the imaging research of brain development and injury, and has made remarkable achievements in early and accurate diagnosis of neonatal brain diseases.
