Deputy Chief Physician Niu Gang graduated from Xi'an Medical University with a bachelor's degree in clinical medicine in 1997. He obtained a master's degree in radiological medicine and nuclear medicine from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2004, and received his Ph.D. in radiological medicine and nuclear medicine from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2011. From 2005 to 2006, he went to the Nuclear Medicine Department of the Graduate School of Medicine, Gunma University, Japan. In 2014, he participated in the "Radio Elite Training Program" jointly organized by the China Radiological Society and the European Radiological Society to study at the Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands. Since 1997, he has been served as deputy director of the Department of Radiology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, primarily involved in the imaging diagnosis of chest and spinal diseases. Since 2001, under CT guided percutaneous biopsy at various sites, there are more than 1,000 cases per year, which is a special medical project of the department. In recent years, the interventional treatment under CT guidance of various parts, including chest and abdomen puncture drainage, chest tumor radiofrequency ablation, argon-helium ablation, radioactive seed implantation, etc., has achieved satisfactory therapeutic results. In 2011, he was rated as one of the top ten doctors in the hospital. In 2018, he served as an expert in Shaanxi Provincial Health Care Committee. He also undertakes teaching at all levels of the 5-year, 7-year, international students, intern students, advanced doctors, and resident physicians.
