Recently, Department of Ophthalmology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was invited to attend the 2nd International Computational Imaging Conference, and deliver a special speech entitled "Clinical significance of corneal imaging with wide field and high resolution".
International Computational Imaging Conference is jointly organized by Chinese Society for Optical Engineering and top-notched affiliations in the field of computational imaging throughout China. Prestigious experts and scholars at home and abroad in relevant fields gathered at this academic conference, which is highly influential in the field of optics and computation. In recent years, computational imaging has become the research frontier and hot spot in the field of optoelectronics at home and abroad, and its extensive application demand and huge development potential in the fields of automatic vehicle driving, industrial production and detection, life science and medicine have been further explored. During this conference, ophthalmologists from School of Ophthalmology and Optometry of Wenzhou Medical University, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Professor Li Li from Department of Ophthalmology of our hospital and other hospitals were invited to conduct academic exchanges regarding on imaging, deep learning, algorithm optimization, intelligence-assisted diagnosis in ophthalmology.
In this speech, Professor Li Li reported a project jointly completed by Department of Ophthalmology of our hospital, Institute of Automatic Control and Detection Technology of XJTU and Xi 'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, which fully reflects the cross-disciplinary research achievements supported by the medical engineering platform in our hospital. Professor Li reported that the two-photon imaging technology was used to get larger field view and higher resolution of corneal nerve fiber imaging. New algorithms was developed to more quickly analyze more nerve fiber parameters than existing ACC Metrics. In clinical, this method is expected to solve the problems of small field of view and difficulty in locating and following up lesions.
In recent years, Department of Ophthalmology has intimately adhered to the research hotspots, upheld the clinical requirement-oriented principle andconstantly created groundbreaking achievements in the field of medical engineering, making contribution to the establishment of National Medical Center of our hospital.
