On the morning of August 17, 2022, Department of Neurology held the kick-off meeting of Abbott Registered Research of Vascular Medical Device in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). This clinical trial aims to actively collect and evaluate the clinical data of Abbott's devices applied in the intended use range, confirm the safety and effectiveness and ensure the continuous acceptability of identified risks. It is a registered multi-center clinical trial worldwide according to the requirements of medical device regulations formulated by the European Union. Our hospital is the leading affiliation in China, and another three Chinese hospitals also participate in this research. Professor Han Jianfeng from Department of Neurology is the principal researcher, and Professor Yang Lin from Department of Vascular Surgery, Professor Zhang Junbo from Department of Peripheral Vessel, and Professor Yu Jia from Department of Neurology act as researchers.

Professor Han Jianfeng delivered a speech in the kick-off meeting, stressing that participating in this project reflects the steady internationalization of clinical research in our hospital. It is an honor to carry out this research as a principal researcher of the leading hospital in China. Department of Neurology, Department of Vascular Surgery and Department of Peripheral Vessel will work together to complete this research with high quality. Subsequently, Ms. Teng Hailin from Abbott delivered training and explanation regarding the contents and cautions of this research project to all participating physicians. Professor Yang Lin, Professor Zhang Junbo, Professor Yu Jia and Physician Liu Fude from Department of Neurology and Physician Chen Chen discussed potential problems throughout the research at the training meeting.

At present, Department of Neurology in our hospital are initiating or participating in more than 10 clinical trials, and all of which are proceeding smoothly. The successful launching of this research signifies that Department of Neurology in our hospital makes a leap forward in multi-center clinical research.
