On July 23, 2022, the inaugural meeting of Professional Committee of MDT for Liver Tumors of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association in conjunction with the 1st New Hope Forum of Liver Tumors were held in Xi 'an. The meeting was held in-person and online. Academician Chen Xiaoping from Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Academician Dou Kefeng from Xijing Hospital of Air Force Medical University, Liu Wei, Deputy Director of Hospital Administration Bureau of Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, Chen Zhao, President of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, Professor Liu Qingguang from the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Xin Xia, Director of Nursing Department of our hospital and other experts attended the meeting.
Wang Ning, Secretary-General of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, chaired the meeting. Professor Liu Qingguang, Professor Yao Yingmin and Professor Yang Wei from Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of our hospital were elected as Honorary Chairman, and Associate Professor Guo Cheng was elected as Chairman.
At the inaugural meeting, Guo Cheng highlighted that liver tumors (primary and metastatic liver cancer), as severe diseases that threaten human health, still have multiple bottleneck difficulties, which are urgently required to be resolved through multidisciplinary collaboration and standardized diagnosis and treatment. To better promote the disciplinary development and standardize the diagnosis and treatment of liver tumors, the establishment of Professional Committee of MDT for Liver Tumors of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association was approved in June, 2022.
Under the leadership of Professor Liu Qingguang and tremendous support from Director Wu Zheng, MDT group for liver tumors collaborated with the experts and professors from Department of Medical Oncology, Department of Medical Imaging, Department of Infectious Diseases, Department of Radiation Therapy, Department of Pathology, Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Department of Surgical Oncology, Department of Gastroenterology and other departments to accumulate abundant experience in multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of primary and metastatic liver tumors, which has laid solid foundation for the establishment of Professional Committee of MDT for Liver Tumors of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association.
Grasping the opportunity of establishing a national and regional medical center by our hospital, it is hoped that through the establishment of this professional committee, the disciplinary influence can be further strengthened, making larger contribution to standardizing the diagnosis and treatment of liver tumors in Shaanxi province.
