After strict screening and selection, eight specialties of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) were approved as the first-batch Specialist Nurse Training Bases in Shaanxi Province.

To further standardize the training and management of specialist nurses and enhance the professional level and operational capability of specialist nurses in Shaanxi province, Health Commission of Shaanxi Province previously organized relevant experts to screen and select the first-batch (12 specialties) Specialist Nurse Training Bases in Shaanxi Province. Based on preliminary foundation of specialist nurse training and comprehensive evaluation of the existing specialties, our hospital screened out nine specialties, such as intravenous therapy, blood purification, cardiovascular diseases, rehabilitation and other specialties, as the first-batch application specialties. Experts from Health Commission of Shaanxi Province delivered comprehensive evaluation consisting of preliminary assessment of the application documents, defense and review and on-spot evaluation, eight specialties including cardiovascular diseases, intravenous therapy, geriatrics, emergency rescue, rehabilitation, diabetes mellitus, wound incontinence and blood purification were finally approved as the first-batch Specialist Nurse Training Bases in Shaanxi Province, signifying that the strength and influence of specialist nursing level and teaching capability of our hospital are gradually elevating in Shaanxi province.

Subsequently, Nursing Department will make overall arrangement for the recruitment plans and accelerate the implementation of training programs of each specialist base, strictly supervise the training quality, strive to build the brand of Specialist Nurse Training Base in our hospital, and make unremitting efforts to cultivate outstanding specialist nursing talents in Shaanxi province.
