From June 17 to 19, 2022, the 4th "Belt & Road Initiative Global Health International Congress in conjunction with 2022 University Alliance of the Silk Road Health Forum", with the theme of "Interdisciplinary International Collaboration • Addressing Human Challenges • Promoting Health for the Globe", were grandly held. Multiple experts and scholars at home and abroad conducted in-depth discussion on the research frontiers of relevant topics.
On June 18, the 4th "Belt & Road Initiative Global Health International Congress—Gerontology & Healthy Aging", a sub-forum of the congress, was successfully held in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Professor Lyu Yi, Vice President of XJTU and President of our hospital, and Li Zongfang, President of the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, delivered speeches, respectively.
The forum consists of three main keynote forums. On June 17, Gerontology Health Forum 1 was successfully held online. Five top-notched international experts in the field of aging health were invited to deliver keynote speeches online, focusing on hot issues in the field of aging health, such as death, disability, cognitive ability, healthy aging policy and dementia. These intriguing lectures covered a wide range of topics and highlights, and presented the latest progress upon groundbreaking interdisciplinary research on healthy aging for all participants.
Gerontology Health Forum 2 was themed "Paying Attention to Senile Syndrome Evaluation Intervention and Chronic Disease Management, Promoting Healthy Aging". Professor Fan Li, President of Chinese Geriatrics Society and former Vice President of PLA General Hospital, Professor Yu Pulin, former Chairman of Chinese Society of Geriatrics of Chinese Medical Association, Professor Hong Huashan, Vice President of Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, Professor Wang Xiaoming, Director of Department of Geriatrics of Xijing Hospital, and Professor Li Xi, Director of Center for Aging Health and Geriatrics of Global Health Institute of XJTU, gave speeches entitled "Current Status and Opportunity Challenges of Geriatrics in China", "Interpretation of Chinese Experts Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Senile Myopenia", "New Progress on Diagnosis and Treatment of Senile Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction", "Interpretation of Guidelines for Senile Hypertension Management in China" and "Interpretation of Experts Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Senile Weakness and Prevention and Treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine", respectively.
With the theme of "Scientific Innovation for Health, Enjoy Silver Age", government officials, experts from colleges and university, medical institutions, enterprises, financial institutions, industry associations were invited to attend Gerontology Health Forum 3, and deliver discussion upon the development direction of geriatrics, novel technologies and therapies of geriatrics and technology-driven building a novel system of geriatric health services,etc. The forum comprised academic lecture and roundtable seminar.
Li Zhihong, Director of Policy Research Department of National Working Commission on Aging, gave a presentation entitled "Construction of Aging Health Service System from the Perspective of Positive Aging", stating that the purpose of building an integrated health service model for the elderly is to establish a more convenient, higher quality, systematic and continuous health service system for the elderly and build up an elderly-friendly society. Cui Ronghua, Party Secretary and Chairman of ROFFAR, delivered a presentation entitled The Voice of Elderly Health Care in China, which gave an explicit explanation of the elderly nursing care project by ROFFAR. Besides, she also exchanged ideas and shared the service concept, construction and operation of nursing homes and facilities catering to the aging population.
Han Ju, Deputy Party Secretary of our hospital, made a report entitled "Scientific Innovation for Health, Enjoy Silver Age: Scientific Technology-driven Positive Aging Health". She highlighted that XJTU and the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU actively promoted the integration of administration, industry, research, study, application and finance, and a "four-body-in-one" innovative research translation platform was jointly established by XJTU, our hospital and enterprises to promote precise connection between industrial innovation chain and industrial chain. University-hospital-enterprise co-constructed "four-body-in-one" Life Health Institute has carried out active practice in the field of aging health, produced preliminary results, formed a whole-process care model for aging health combining medical treatment with nursing care. In addition, she also introduced the wearable products, and clinical problems-oriented 200W blue laser equipment and innovative technologies.
Fang Jian, Chief Marketing Officer of Panasonic China & Northeast Asia Company, interpreted "How to Achieve a More Dignified Sense of Security for the Elderly" from four aspects: "Value, Administration, Tool and Practice". Professor Su Xianming, Director of Department of Geriatrics I of our hospital, gave a speech entitled "How Geriatrics Accelerates the Combination of Medical Care and Nursing Care", highlighting that we should make full and rational use of medical resources and elderly care resources from the perspectives of correct understanding, modified measures, matching resources, precise service and talents and professionism,etc. For the long-term development, the aging problems should be gradually resolved and the combination of medical and nursing care should be steadily promoted.
During the roundtable forum,"How Scientific and Technological Innovation can Assist Healthy Aging" and "Discussion of the Mode and Mechanism of Four-body-in-one Scientific and Technological Innovation" were mainly discussed. Experts shared clinical practice and development achievements of geriatric research, and delivered dialogues and exchanges on multiple topics, such as improving the quality of life of the elderly, science and technology-driven active aging health, health prolonging during the life cycle and building a four-body-in-one platform for science and technology innovation. The roundtable forum closely adhered to the reality and covered multiple perspectives from policies, concepts, science and technology, planning, talents to markets,etc.
