On the afternoon of April 27, Fang Guanghua, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and leader of the National Medical Center construction leading group in Shaanxi province, held a meeting to hear the progress report on the construction of National Medical Center. Relevant leaders and responsible staff from Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, Department of Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province, Industry and Information Technology Department of Shaanxi Province, Finance Department of Shaanxi Province, Human Resources and Social Security Department of Shaanxi Province, Health Commission of Shaanxi Province, Shaanxi Provincial Healthcare Security Administration, Shaanxi Medical Products Administration, Xi'an Municipal People's Government, Xi 'an International Trade & Logistics Park and other departments attended the meeting. Lyu Yi, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and President of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Ma Xinge, Party Secretary of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, and Ma Xin, Director of Discipline Construction Office attended the meeting. First, Lyu Yi delivered a report on progress of the construction of National Medical Center, subsequent work plan and additional policy support for the construction of National Medical Center. Relevant departments reported the suggestions and opinions regarding full support to build the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU into National Medical Center.

During the meeting, it was stressed that the construction of National Medical Center is a rare opportunity for the development of healthcare in Shaanxi province. Governments at all levels should implement the construction funds as soon as possible according to the requirements, and ensure that the construction projects are completed as scheduled. Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and Xi 'an Municipal People’s Government formulated a list of supporting policies for the construction of National Medical Center. Very soon, the General Office of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government will sign and issue the List of Shaanxi Province Support Policy for Building the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University into National Medical Center.

In terms of the project construction, the capping ceremony of phase I project ofXi 'an Inland Port Hospital has been held, which is expected to be into operation by the end of 2023. Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission will organize the expert evaluation work of the feasibility study report of core construction project (phase II project) of National Medical Center, actively communicate with National Development and Reform Commission and National Health Commission, timely follow up the reviewing progress of construction plan and feasibility study report of National Medical Center, and spare no effort to obtain the approval as soon as possible. Finally, specific requirements were clarified on the talent recruitment policy at the meeting. Governments and departments at all levels should make overall consideration of the current status and development requirement of state institution staff of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, and give full support to relevant work, such as talent recruitment conditions and state institution talents for the construction of National Medical Center.
