On April 16, the inaugural meeting of Professional Committee of Psychosomatic Medicine of Shaanxi Association of Integrative Medicine in conjunction with the first academic meeting were held in Xi'an, which was chaired by Gou Licheng, Deputy Secretary-General of Shaanxi Association of Integrative Medicine. Li Yuming, President of Shaanxi Association of Integrative Medicine, Wang Weidong, Director of Secretariat Office of Shaanxi Association of Integrative Medicine, and Director Chen Yunchun from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) were invited to attend the meeting. Gou Licheng introduced the preparatory work of the professional committee and theelection procedures. Wang Weidong announced the approval document from Shaanxi Association of Integrative Medicine on the establishment of the 1st Professional Committee of Psychosomatic Medicine and the notification of inaugural meeting. All candidates were elected by Shaanxi Association of Integrative Medicine through online voting, and 448 members, 108 standing committee members, 16 deputy directors, 1 director and 1 secretary-general were eventually elected. Li Qiang, Chief Physician and Director of Department of Psychiatry from our hospital, was elected as the director, 16 professors including Chen Yunchun and Wang Wei were elected as deputy directors, and Professor Wang Wei was elected as both the secretary-general of the professional committee and the director of the youth committee.
Professor Li Qiang delivered a statement and proposed a blueprint for the construction and development of the professional committee in the future. Li Yuming pointed out that the establishment of professional committee meets the development needs of psychosomatic medicine, and it also signifies a new development stage of psychosomatic medicine in Shaanxi province, and put forward five requirements regarding the work of the professional committee. At the meeting, certificates were presented to the director, deputy directors and secretary-general of the professional committee.
After the inaugural meeting, the first academic meeting of Professional Committee of Psychosomatic Medicine of Shaanxi Association of Integrative Medicine was held, which was chaired by Professor Wang Wei. Experts gave intriguing academic lectures covering the identification and treatment of anxiety disorders in tertiary hospitals, standardized diagnosis and treatment process of psycho-cardiology medicine, gastrointestinal dysfunction and psychosomatic medicine, emotional problems of children and adolescents, Chinese medicine treatment of insomnia, insomnia and anxiety, etc. The lectures were conducted both online and offline, with more than 6,000 online participants.
The success of this meeting provides an exchange platform for professional practitioners in the field of psychosomatic medicine and integrative medicine in Shaanxi province, strengthens multidisciplinary exchange and cooperation, jointly strives for growth and development, and contributes to the strategy of Healthy Shaanxi province.
