Yang Aimin elected as National Chairman-designate of Expert Committee on Nuclear Medicine of CSCO

On April 9, the working meeting of Expert Committee on Nuclear Medicine of Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) was successfully held online. The new Expert Committee on Nuclear Medicine of CSCO has been established after the communication pre-selection, self-recommendation and recommendation combined with the resolution reached at the preparatory meeting for the general election. Yang Aimin, Director of Department of Nuclear Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was elected as the National Chairman-designate of Expert Committee on Nuclear Medicine of CSCO, and Professor Gao Rui was elected as Member of Expert Committee on Nuclear Medicine of CSCO. Next, under the guidance of Chairman Lin Yansong and other vice-chairmen, all members will give full play to professional advantages and effectively promote the integrated application of radionuclide diagnosis and treatment. At the meeting, all experts also delivered special lectures and discussions on radionuclide therapy and management of nuclear medicine, etc.

Founded in 1997, CSCO is a national, academic and non-profit professional academic organization voluntarily composed of clinical oncologists and related enterprises and institutions. CSCO has long been committed to continuing education and multi-center collaborative research in clinical oncology, promoting the standardization of tumor diagnosis and treatment, and enhancing the academic level of clinical oncology in China. It has become the most active professional academic organization in the clinical oncology community nationwide, with the advantages and characteristics of talent clusters, intensive intelligence, smooth information, strong cohesion and creativity, etc. CSCO is one of the most well-known and authoritative academic groups of medical science and technology in China, which has profound influence upon the international community of clinical oncology.

Professor Yang Aimin is Director of Department of Nuclear Medicine, Director of Discipline of Nuclear Medicine, second-class Chief Physician/Professor and doctoral tutor of our hospital. He has been devoted tonuclear medicine molecular functional imaging diagnosis (SPECT/CT and PET/CT), tumor molecular targeted functional imaging diagnosis and treatment, and gene mechanism of individual differences in 131 iodine-based irradiation sensitivity of thyroid cells.
