On March 17, Special Investigation of Leaders from Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in conjunction with Seminar on Multi-disciplinary Collaborative Innovation of Engineering Medicine and Management were held online. The seminar was initiated with the theme of "multi-disciplinary collaborative innovation of engineering medicine and management". Lyu Yi, Vice President of XJTU attended and chaired the seminar. Key leaders of the Communist Party and administration, and experts and scholars of Faculty of Electronic and Information Engineering, School of Management and Health Science Center of XJTU, the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU and Hospital of Stomatology of XJTU attended the seminar.
Staff from each faculty reported on the development profile, achievements and future direction of engineering medicine. Ma Xin, Director of Discipline Construction Office of our hospital, reported on the construction of National Medical Center from three aspects: construction background, overall planning and construction progress. At present, ourhospital has been successfully approved as a counseling affiliation of National Medical Center. Intensive attention has been diverted to 9 key projects, aiming to resolve the "bottleneck" and "final" issues in the field of medicine. Relying on the development strategy of "one city, two ports", the functions of 7 centers are deployed and implemented in the general hospital, Lugang hospital district, MED-X Research Institute at Innovation Port, aiming to promote the construction of National Medical Center. Our hospital will deliver in-depth cooperation with Faculty of Electronic and Information Engineering and School of Management to jointly overcome clinical problems.
Experts and scholars had heated discussions on an array of topics including Construction of New Natural Science, New Medicine and New Social Science, Breakthrough in Bottleneck Technology, Cross-appointment of experts and professors,Information Construction in Hospitals and Smart Hospitals, and Construction of China Hospital Reform and Development Research Institute,etc.
In the concluding speech, Vice President Lyu Yi pointed out that all faculties should plan as a whole, strengthen in-depth cooperation among faculties, make innovation in the mechanism of cooperation, designate special personnel to follow up, expand cooperation areas, increase cooperation opportunities, and solicit medical problem-oriented projects of engineering medicine and management from XJTU and even across China. We should strengthen cooperation with enterprises, emphasize alumni resources and highlight the translation of scientific and technological outcomes. XJTU will make unified arrangements in terms of system guarantee, financial support and achievement sharing, and jointly accelerate the construction of first-class disciplines and National Medical Center.
