On March 5, the "Silk Road Engineering Medicine Elite Forum" in conjunction with the "12th Academic Annual Meeting of Engineering Medicine Collaborative Science and Technology Innovation of Xi 'an Jiaotong University" were held as scheduled in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) both online and offline. The meeting centered on the theme of "Engineering medicine empowerment, Forging the pillars of a great power". Relevant leaders of Hospital Administration Bureau of Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, Social Development Division of Department of Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province, Social Development Division of Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, XJTU and the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU were invited to attend the meeting, which was presided over by Ma Xin’ge, Party Secretary of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU.
Lyu Yi, Vice President of XJTU and President of our hospital, Liu Na, Director ofHospital Administration Bureau of Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, Fu Xueling, Director of Social Development Division of Department of Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province, and Professor Bie Zhaohong, Vice President of XJTU delivered speeches, respectively. President Lyu Yi stressed that the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU has a glorious tradition in the scientific and technological innovation of engineering medicine, starting from early exploration of technological innovation of engineering medicine, such as the approval of laser medical laboratory, research and development of domestic cardiopulmonary bypass equipment and the development of liver transplantation retractor, to the establishment of the "Surgical Dreamworks", a research platform for engineering medicine and scientific and technological innovation, setting an example for the disciplinary integration and development for XJTU and forming a relatively complete ecology of engineering medicine. Our hospital persistently adheres to and encourages basic research, attaches importance to applied research, continuously stimulates the enthusiasm of medical staff for technological innovation, and actively accelerates the translation of innovation achievements.
During the annual meeting, the appointment ceremony of dual-employed and guest professors was also launched. Professor Zhang Zhenxi from School of Life Science and Technology of XJTU, Professor Peng Niancai from School of Mechanical Engineering of XJTU, and Du Yi, President from Shenzhen Leimai Precision Medicine Institute were appointed as dual-employed and guest professors. President Lyu Yi presented the letters of appointment for Professor Zhang Zhenxi, Professor Peng Niancai and President Du Yi. Party Secretary Ma Xin’ge delivered a concluding speech for the opening ceremony of the annual meeting.
According to the meeting agenda, experts from universities, hospitals and enterprises gave academic lectures and exchanged ideas regarding a wide range of topics including Engineering Medicine Research Master Forum, Leading Projects of National Medical Center Construction, Applied Research of Magnet-assisted Biology, Application of Photoelectric Physical Technology in Tumor Treatment, Functional Diagnosis & Treatment and Molecular Imaging Technology, and Research and Development of Medical Devices and Equipment in online and offline patterns.
