From October 16 to 17, 2021 Chang’an ECMO Summit Forum in conjunction with the re-election meeting of ECMO Branch, hosted by ECMO Branch of Shaanxi Association of Health Promotion and Education and organized by ECMO Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), were held in Xi 'an. Xi Hong, President of Shaanxi Association of Health Promotion and Education, Vice President Hao Qingyu, Secretary-General Chang Ailing, Professor Zheng Jianjie, Party Secretary of Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of our hospital, Deputy Director Yan Yang and Professor Wang Haichen and professional experts from Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, ICU, ECMO, Department of Anesthesiology, Department of Respiration Medicine and Nursing Department of Xijing Hospital of Air Force Medical University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Hanzhong Central Hospital, Hanzhong 3201 Hospital, the First People's Hospital of Xianyang, Yan 'an University Affiliated Hospital, Yan 'an City Hospital of TCM, Ankang Central Hospital and Yangxian People’s Hospital attended the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Chang Ailing. Professor Yan Yang, Director of the 1st ECMO Branch, gave a comprehensive and explicit work report. Vice President Hao Qingyu announced Management Regulations for Branch Institutions. Professor Zheng Jianjie announced the list of all members. After open, fair and just voting election, Professor Li Yongxin from Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of our hospital was elected as Director of the 2nd ECMO Branch of Shaanxi Association of Health Promotion and Education, and Wang Haichen, Shi Tao, Yan Yang, Pei Fei, Liang Xiaoping, Shi Qindong and Wang Xiaochuang were elected as Deputy Director and Guo Fengwei was elected as Secretary-General.
Xi Hong presented the Letter of Appointment to the newly-elected Director, Deputy Director and Secretary-General, and the plaques to Hanzhong Central Hospital, Hanzhong3201 Hospital, the First People's Hospital of Xianyang, Yan 'an City Hospital of TCM, and Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Hospital of Yan 'an University Affiliated Hospital. Professor Li Yongxin, the newly-elected Director, delivered a statement speech.
2021 Chang’an ECMO Summit Forum fully demonstrated the cutting-edge progress and technical hotspots of ECMO in clinical application via special lectures, case discussions and other patterns.
Professor Li Yongxin from our hospital gave a presentation entitled Progress on application of ECMO in clinical practice, introduced the history of clinical application of ECMO and shared several ECMO cases in our hospital.Song Yan from our hospital delivered a speech entitledA pplication of critical ultrasound in ECMO, emphasized the critical role of cardiac ultrasound during the whole treatment process of ECMO patients, and illustrated that cardiac ultrasound can provide highly valuable information at any stage of ECMO treatment.
Yang Yang from our hospital started with the physiological perspective of ECMO oxygen supply and demand balance, and shared clinical cases to illustrate ECMO physiology, providing guidance upon dynamic adjustment of ECMO parameters for clinicians.
Guo Fengwei from our hospital gave a lecture entitled Construction of ECMO emergency network in Shaanxi province. Zong Yuan from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and Wang Shengyu from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Medical College gave special lectures entitled ECMO and ARDS and Application of V-V ECMO in severe pneumonia.
Professor Shi Tao from our hospital gave a comprehensive and in-depth illustration of the management of the right heart insufficiency in cardiogenic and noncardiac critically ill patients. During the session of case discussion, Liu Miaomiao from our hospital, Bai Zhenghai from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Li Gang from Hanzhong 3201 Hospital, and Liu Minlong from Xi 'an Daxing Hospital shared four typical ECMO cases, respectively .
