The 5th Jingwei Oncology Forum, hosted by Shaanxi Anti-Cancer Association and co-organized by Professional Committee of Chemotherapy of Shaanxi Anti-Cancer Association and Department of Medical Oncology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was held online on September 9, 2021. The theme of this nursing forum is "Hospice Care for Cancer Patients".
The nursing forum was presided over by Head Nurse Wu Huili from Department of Medical Oncology of our hospital. Xin Xia, Director of Nursing Department and Yao Yu, Deputy Director of Department of Medical Oncology delivered speeches. They highly recognized the work of the nursing team of Department of Medical Oncology and expressed warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to all participants.
In the session of academic exchange, Vice President Li Ling from Ninth People's Hospital of Zhengzhou, Associate Professor Ge Guanqun from Department of Breast Surgery of our hospital, and Deputy Director Liu Ailan from Nursing Department of Shaanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital delivered intriguing presentations entitled "Discipline construction of hospice care", "Vascular anatomy related to PICC" and "Application of aromatherapy in hospice care for cancer patients", presenting with professional contents covering from national policy to clinical practice, respectively. Head Nurse Zhou Xiaoling from Department of Orthopedics of our hospital and other nurses gave reports with the topics of "Perioperative pain management", "Application of narrative nursing in psychological support of patients" and "Application of infusion port in hospice care", which were related to hospice care in our hospital. Xie Juan, Director of Nursing Department of Shaanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, He Hua, Deputy Director Nurse from Department of Hematology of Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Medical University, He Li, Head Nurse of Department of Medical Oncology of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Li Jieqiong, Deputy Director of Nursing Department of our hospital, Qiao Lina, Head Nurse of Department of General Surgery and Department of Medical Oncology, Fan Xiaoe, Head Nurse of Department of Comprehensive Surgery, Guo Pingli, Head Nurse of Department of Breast Surgery, Niu Liying, Head Nurse of Department of Radiation Oncology and other nurses delivered professional comments, respectively.
Finally, Professor Yao Yu from Department of Medical Oncology of our hospital, Executive Chairman of the forum, gave a concluding remark. She highly appreciated multiple experts for participating in the forum, and positively recognized the academic exchanges of this nursing forum.
