"Innovation and Practice of Medicine-Engineering Interdisciplinary Surgery" of 2021 National Postgraduate Summer Campuswas held online from August 17 to 19.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Wu Xiaojian, Deputy Director of Department of Education of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) Health Science Center. Zhang Taiping, Deputy Head of Surgery Group of Chinese Medical Association and Director of Department of Basic Surgery of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Wang Jiandong, Secretary of Surgery Group of Chinese Medical Association from Xinhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Qian Jianmin, member of Surgery Group of Chinese Medical Association from Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, Lyu Yi, Deputy Head of Surgery Group of Chinese Medical Association, Assistant-to-President of XJTU and President of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, and relevant staff from of XJTU Health Science Center and our hospital were invited to attend the opening ceremony. Nearly 80 doctoral students, postgraduate students and young physicians from more than 30 colleges and universities across China participated in the online activities.
President Lyu Yi, Director Zhang Taiping and Wang Jiandong delivered speeches, respectively. Zhang Ming mainly illustrated the blueprint of medicine-engineering discipline (computational physics medicine) of School of Future Technology. Liu Chang introduced the abundant teaching and supervisor resources of our hospital.
In the keynote presentation session, nearly 30 experts brought an intriguing feast of academic knowledge. Based on clinical practice, experts from Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Xinhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine introduced the transformation pathway of clinical research outcomes in surgery, discussed the role of the development of minimally invasive surgery in innovating surgical technology, shared innovative treatment and practice of multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic diseases, and illustrated the basics and innovation of liver surgery, respectively. Zhang Yuelang, Fan Lin and Wang Zheng from our hospital delivered presentations on Medical Humanity and Practice, Research Progress on Laparoscopic Surgery for Gastrointestinal Diseases, and Thinking and Innovation of Diagnosis and Treatment of Surgical Infection, respectively. In addition, multiple experts introduced the innovative research on visual surgical technology in hepatobiliary surgery, current situation and future of robot-assisted surgery, and nano-iron oxide and precise magnetic diagnosis and treatment,etc. Li Qiling, Wu Rongqian, Zhang Yong, Chu Dake, Wang Shanpei, Dong Dinghui and Wang Fumin from our hospital delivered respective lectures on Combining Engineering Accelerates Clinical Research Progress on Obstetrics and Gynecology, Innovative Research of Medicine Combined with Engineering in Surgical Dreamworks, Application Status and Progress on Medicine Combined with Engineering in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery, Integration of Innovation in Diagnosis and Treatment of Digestive Diseases with Development of Science and Technology, Recent Global Research Progress on Magnetic Surgery, Innovative Application of Laser in Surgery and Application of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, respectively.
Wu Chunsheng, Wang Fu, Bu Yazhong, Tang Jingda and Guo Baolin from XJTU delivered lectures illustrating biomedical sensing technology, gene coding probe and precise imaging technology for tumors, preparation technology and relevant application of bio-glue, material mechanics design and biomedical application of hydrogel, rapid hemostasis and tissue repairing biomaterials, respectively. Ren Fenggang from our hospital summarized the research and application progress on high-voltage pulse ablation technology for tumors.
Wu Rongqian gave a concluding speech hoping that this activity can broaden the academic horizons of our students and deepen their understanding of collaborative innovation and development of medicine and engineering. He also expected that the students can further explore, innovate and take the responsibility to promote the development of surgery and contribute to building a healthy China.
