From July 13 to 15, 2021, Training Course on Appropriate Techniques for Stroke (thrombus removal), hosted by National Stroke Prevention Project Committee of National Health Commission and organized by the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was held in Qujiang. More than 20 experts from Shaanxi province and other regions were invited to deliver all-round training course on the techniques of thrombus removal in stroke patients. The course contents consist of technical highlights, equipment selection, perioperative management, imaging evaluation and fast-track construction,etc. The training course is an academic feast for nearly 200 trainees majoring in cerebrovascular diseases in China in the patterns of theoretical teaching, simulator operation and case review,etc.
The opening ceremony of the training course was held on the morning of July 14, which was presided over by Assistant-to-President Han Jianfeng from the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU. Qu Qiumin, President of Shaanxi Stroke Specialty Alliance, Wang Maode, Vice President of our hospital, Yu Chunfu, bureau head of Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, and Chao Baohua, Director of National Stroke Prevention Project Committee of National Health Commission delivered speeches, respectively.
During the 2-day training course, three experts from Shaanxi province served as the hosts and 17 experts conducted all-round training course on intra-arterial embolectomy techniques, including Professor Chen Shengli from Chongqing University Three Gorges Hospital, Professor Chen Jian from Xuanwu Hospital Capital Medical University, Professor Han Ju from the First Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University, Professor Liu Yongchang from Cangzhou Central Hospital, Professor Ma Binwu from General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University, Professor Li Zhaoshuo from Henan Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Wu Qinfen from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, Professor Zhu Jinzhao from Anyang People's Hospital and Professor Gao Lianbo from the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.
On the afternoon of July 15, a case review seminar was held. Professor Han Jianfeng from our hospital, Professor Zhang Ru from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Director Wang Xinlai from Xi 'an Central Hospital, Director Chang Mingze from Xi 'an No.3 Hospital, Professor Liu Jun from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and Director Jia Yi from Xi 'an Gaoxin Hospital gave professional comments. Six major centers for thrombus removal in Shaanxi province offered 1 typical case for trainee discussion, analysis and exchange for practical experience of thrombus removal. At the end of the training course, training certificates were accredited to the trainees.
As National Demonstration Advanced Stroke Center and China Training Base of Intra-arterial Thrombectomy for Stroke, our hospital has been devoted to the technical training of rescue and treatment of stroke patients. In recent 3 years, our hospital has held several training courses on intravenous thrombolysis, intra-arterial thrombectomy and carotid stenting. The number of trainees attending this training course was increased to nearly 200, and the session of case review was supplemented. The theoretical knowledge of the trainees can be consolidated through written test, and the practical experience can be cultivated by case review, thereby thrombus removal techniques can be popularized in an effective and standard manner.
