On July 3, the inaugural meeting of Health Management Branch of Chinese Geriatrics Society in conjunction with the 1st Academic Forum on Health Management were held in Beijing. Professor Ma Mao, Director of Department of Physical Examination of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), was elected as Vice President of the 1st Health Management Branch of Chinese Geriatrics Society. The inaugural meeting was presided over by Tu Qilei, President of Chinese Geriatrics Society. Prestigious domestic experts and scholars engaged in the field of geriatrics health management were invited to attend the meeting.
With the theme of implementing the policy of Healthy China and strengthening the geriatric health management, 6 key works were proposed and emphasized from the new perspective, new requirement and new height of the national strategy during the forum: effectively educating the national conditions of the aging population, speeding up the construction of a health system for the elderly, accelerating the improvement of geriatric service system, emphasizing the development of human resources for the elderly, building up a friendly environment for the elderly and enhancing the basic work for the elderly.
The core of the national policy of Healthy China is shifting to health management and disease prevention, switching from emphasis on treatment to health. As an active driver and advocator of health management industry in Shaanxi province, Professor Ma Mao has been devoted to exploring the practice of geriatric health management. In his speech, Professor Ma Mao introduced the concept, connotation and steps of health management of chronic diseases of the elderly, and vividly explained the application of health management of urinary diseases of the aged patients in clinical practice by sharing typical cases.
Professor Ma Mao stated that as China is entering into an aging society, the elderly population is not only a critical group in the health management industry, but also the core of the healthy China policy. In the future, we will strengthen the disciplinary construction of health management, emphasize the culture of all-level health management professionals, and provide the citizens with multi-dimensional and multi-level characteristic health management services featured with hierarchical, classifying and grading health management before physical examination, as well as whole-process, comprehensive and multi-disciplinary health management after physical examination, aiming to improve the health quality of the Chinese people and safeguard the policy of Healthy China.
