On the morning of July 4, the kick-off meeting of Infectious Liver Disease Salon for Young and Middle-aged Scholars of Shaanxi Province was successfully held in Xi 'an. Professor Zhao Yingren, Director of Department of Infectious Diseases of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and Chairman of Professional Committee of Infectious Diseases of Shaanxi Medical Association, Professor Jia Zhansheng, Director of Center for Infectious Liver Diseases of Xi 'an International Medical Center, Professor Lian Jianqi, Director of Department of Infectious Diseases of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University (Tangdu Hospital), Professor Dang Liyun, Party Secretary of Xi 'an Chest Hospital, and Wu Qianhong, Vice President of Shaanxi Provincial Institute for Tuberculosis Control and Prevention attended the kick-off meeting to cut the ribbon and deliver speeches, respectively. Directors and young and middle-aged backbones of department of infectious diseases of all-level hospitals in Shaanxi province participated in the event.


During the academic exchange session, Professor He Yingli, Deputy Director of Department of Infectious Diseases of our hospital, delivered a lecture entitled "Discussion on CHB Drug Resistance Management and Initial Treatment Strategy", presenting multiple new ideas in clinical research, which significantly enlightened the thinking of audience. Commentators Professor Fan Wanhu and Professor Hao Jianmei expressed their perspectives on the negative effect of drug resistance, drug selection and patient compliance in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B based on clinical experience. Professor Ji Fanpu from Department of Infectious Diseases of the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, contributed a presentation entitled "Epclusa-Great Truth in Simple Words", elaborated the difficult problems in the treatment of hepatitis C by sharing experience in real-world clinical research. Commentators Professor Zhao Wenxue and Professor Chang Zhanjie gave intriguing comments from the perspectives of strengthening monitoring and integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Associate Professor Kang Wen from Tangdu Hospital delivered a presentation entitled “New Progress on HIV Diagnosis and Treatment”, reviewing the diagnosis of HIV, three stages of HIV and the treatment drugs at different stages in the pattern of illustrations and texts. Commentators Professor Liu Layang and Professor Liu Hailing shared their experience upon the diagnosis, management and treatment of HIV patients in clinical settings.

Professor Chen Tianyan, President of the meeting, stressed that the series academic activities of Infectious Liver Disease Salon for Young and Middle-aged Scholars aim to establish an exchange platform for young and middle-aged experts in the field of infectious liver diseases in Shaanxi province and Northwest China. Academic lectures, case discussions and real-world research were carried out in the fields of viral hepatitis and other liver diseases, infection, fever, tuberculosis, AIDS, mother-infant infectious diseases, jointly enhancing the diagnosis and treatment levels of infectious liver diseases in Northwest China. In addition, the discussion and arrangement of academic activities in 2021 were delivered. Infectious Liver Disease Salon for Young and Middle-aged Scholars (Ankang) is scheduled to launch in August.
