On June 5-6, 2021, the 4th Training Course of Diagnosis and Treatment Capability Training Project of Pain Diseases initiated by Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center of National Health Commission was held in Xi 'an. Ma Xinge, Party Secretary of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Professor Liu Yanqing, Director of National Training Center for the Study of Painand Head of Expert Group of Diagnosis and Treatment Capability Training Project of Pain Diseases of Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center of National Health Commission and other leaders and experts were invited to attend the meeting and deliver speeches, respectively.

The meeting was hosted by Professor Zou Yuliang, Assistant-to-President of our hospital. More than 300 specialists in the field of pain from Shaanxi province and alternative regions attended the training course.

Fifteen experts were invited to deliver the training courses in a comprehensible manner, covering the topics ranging from ion channel drugs, opioids drugs to neuropathic pain, from modern diagnosis and treatment of pain to the integrated development mode of pain department, and highlighting the interpretation of Chinese expert consensus on the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and spinal nerve root pain. Meantime, surgical demonstration teaching and ultrasound-guided interventional therapy were organized during the meeting. Surgical demonstration teaching showcased radiofrequency regulation and micro-decompression, the representative core technologies of pain department, which have multiple advantages of mild trauma, rapid recovery and low cost for treating intervertebral disc herniation, which deserves widespread application in clinical practice.
Wang Suoliang, Director of Department of Pain of our hospital, concluded that Department of Pain of the First Affiliated Hospital of XJTU has been approved as the fourth training base after multiple rounds of investigation and screening by Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center of National Health Commission, which takes significant responsibility on our shoulders. We should actively take the responsibilities of training and elevating the diagnosis and treatment capability of pain diseases in Shaanxi province and neighboring regions. We’ll join hands with our colleagues in the field of pain diseases to forge ahead and contribute to the development of the specialty of pain diseases in Shaanxi province and throughout Northwest China.
