On May 18, 2021, the 26^th National Member Congress of Chinese Medical Association was held in Beijing. Professor Yuan Zuyi from Department of Cardiology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was successfully elected as a member of the 26^th Council of Chinese Medical Association.

Established in 1915, Chinese Medical Association is the first-batch 5A-grade national-level society approved by Ministry of Civil Affairs, which has made historical contributions to safeguarding people's health and promoting social and economic development. Professor Yuan Zuyi is currently President of Cardiovascular Disease Hospital of our hospital. He is currently a Standing Committee Member of Chinese Society of Cardiovascular Diseases of Chinese Medical Association, Vice President of Chinese Atherosclerosis Society of International Atherosclerosis Society, Standing Committee Member of Chinese Association of Cardiovascular Medicine of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Standing Committee Member of Cardiovascular Branch of China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, Head of Basic Research Group of the 10^thCommittee of Chinese Society of Cardiovascular Diseases of Chinese Medical Association, Member of the 1^st Committee of National Cardiovascular Disease Experts, and Director of Cardiovascular Disease Branch of Shaanxi Medical Association. He served as a reviewer of 8 international core journals including J Am Coll Cardiol,ATVB,Cardiovascular Research,American Journal of Physiology,Heart,International Journal of Cardiology,American Journal of Cardiology,American Heart Journal and Molecular Biology Reports,etc. Professor Yuan Zuyi has hosted and undertaken 1 national "Outstanding Youth Fund", 1 national "973" project, 2 major research programs of National Natural Science Foundation of China and 7 surface projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published more than 150 academic articles including over 70 articles published in SCI-indexed journals. Multiple articles have been published in top-notched international journals, such as Nature Medicine,Circulation,ATVB,JACC,Cardiovasc Res and JMCC,etc.
