To implement the strategy of “Healthy China 2030”, Development Center for Medical Science & Technology of National Health Commission initiated and held "Healthy China 2030"—"2021 Training Course of Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer and Inter-hospital Exchange" of Cancer Health Planning Project. On March 28, 2021, the kick-off meeting of this project was held in Beijing. As the contributor and leader of standardized diagnosis and treatment of cancer in Northwest China, Professor Li Enxiao from Department of Oncology attended the meeting on behalf of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU).

At the kick-off meeting, Director Zhao Kaili delivered a comprehensive and systematical introduction of the current situation of cancer diseases in China, adding that this project aimed to improve the capability of clinicians to diagnose and treat cancer diseases, achieve the goal of early diagnosis, early treatment and early rehabilitation and resolve the current issues of unbalanced distribution of high-quality medical resources and health service insufficiency in grassroots hospitals throughout China.

In this project, 58 academic training meetings are scheduled annually, including offline project kick-off meetings, online and offline inter-hospital exchange meetings and offline tour seminars,etc. This project is mainly divided into two stages. In the preparation stage, relevant staff will communicate with medical centers in the field of oncology regarding the project content, discuss and formulate work details and project theme. In the implementation stage, the project will cover appropriate regional hospitals based on the strength of teaching and training bases, and oncologists will be invited to the training base for professional training. Meantime, cross-regional online learning and exchange opportunities related to cancer will be provided for hospitals across the country, aiming to resolve the issues in clinical practice. In addition, top-notched experts and clinicians in the field of oncology will be invited to discuss clinical cases of diagnosis and treatment of refractory cancer diseases in different regions via offline meeting.

A total of 21 standardized diagnosis and treatment and inter-hospital exchange training centers participated in this project. Our hospital was officially appointed in this project, the only representative affiliation in Northwest China!
