On the evening of January 20, 2021, the expert team from Department of Thoracic Surgery and esophageal MDT in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and Professor Hiroyuki Daiko, Director of Department of Esophageal Surgery, Central Hospital of National Cancer Center Japan jointly held the Sino-Japanese Exchange Meeting on Surgical Treatment of Esophageal Cancer. This exchange meeting was designed to deliver in-depth discussion of surgical treatment of esophageal cancer. Fu Junke, Director of Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital, Li Shaomin, Director of Department of Thoracic Surgery of the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Lei Guangyan, Director of Department of Thoracic Surgery, Shaanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, Wang Hongtao, Director of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Zhang Xiaozhi from Department of Tumor Radiotherapy of our hospital, Professor Wu Yinying from Department of Oncology and team led by Fu Junke of our hospital attended the meeting.

This meeting was presided over by Director Fu Junke. Director Fu Junke delivered a presentation entitled "Prevention and Treatment of Esophageal and Tracheal Fistula after Minimally Invasive Esophageal Surgery". Physician Gao Shan from Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital shared experience of re-operation after minimally invasive esophageal surgery. Professor Hiroyuki Daiko introduced the general situation of the esophageal surgery team and clinical trial of esophageal cancer hosted by Central Hospital of National Cancer Center Japan. Subsequently, all the experts delivered heated discussion on the research progress on anastomotic skills in minimally invasive radical esophagectomy, preservation of tubular stomach as well as prevention and treatment of postoperative complications,etc. The number of online viewers exceeded 10,000, and the on-site experts delivered active discussion and exchange. Finally, Director Fu Junke gave a summary of this meeting and expected to further strengthen cooperation and exchange in the future.
