On December 18, Shaanxi Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine officially issued a document stating that the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was successfully granted as the first-batch construction affiliation for Demonstration Base for Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Shaanxi Province. This is another honorary title after our hospital received the honor of Demonstration Affiliation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Work in National Tertiary Hospitals in the field of traditional Chinese medicine.
The work of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in our hospital has a long history, cultivates numerous talents and achieves fruitful results. Our hospital has always adhered to the development principle of "emphasizing both traditional Chinese and western medicine", actively responded to the development strategy for traditional Chinese medicine work proposed the Communist Party and the national authority, vigorously supported the development of traditional Chinese medicine work and obtained a series of achievements. At present, our hospital has established 1 clinic for Shaanxi Province Prestigious Experienced Chinese Medicine Expert and 7 clinics forS haanxi Province Prestigious Chinese Medicine Expert, and obtained over 30 scientific research projects of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in recent 3 years. Currently, our hospital has carried out more than 10 categories of traditional Chinese medicine service, such as Chinese medicine decoction and tablets, acupuncture, acupoint dressing, Chinese medicine fumigation, meridian moxibustion, navel moxibustion, indirect moxibustion, Yang-bolstering moxibustion, ear acupuncture, balance cupping and copper stone needle scraping. These characteristic Chinese medicine therapies have been promoted and applied in multiple departments in the hospital. During the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional Chinese medicine treatment and prevention measures were actively carried out in our and other hospitals, receiving widespread recognition from patients and the whole society.
The approval of Demonstration Base for Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Shaanxi Province represents an affirmation of previous work in the specialty of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in our hospital.
