On October 18, 2020 Annual Conference of Professional Committee of Oncology of Chinese Urological Doctor Association (CUDA) in conjunction with the 15th Xi 'an International Forum on Urology (XIFU) jointly organized by Professional Committee of Oncology of CUDA and Department of Urology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) successfully concluded in Xi 'an. Ma Xinge, Party Secretary of our hospital, Professor Zhou Liqun from Peking University First Hospital and President of Professional Committee of Oncology of CUDA, Professor Wei Qiang from West China Hospital, Professor Huang Yiran from Renji Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor He Dalin from our hospital, and multiple domestic prestigious urologists were invited to attend the annual conference personally or virtually. Professor Li Lei, Director of Department of Urology of our hospital, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
The conference consisted of the main venue combined with four branch venues. All urologists collectively discussed the diagnosis and treatment, current status and future development direction of urological tumors, promoted the popularization and application of brand-new urological technologies and concepts, accelerated the transformation and integration between basic medicine and clinical diagnosis and treatment, drove the persistent enhance of urology talents, science and technology, service and quality, broke the inherent way of thinking and explore the road of innovation.
At the main venue themed "Hot Topic Sharing and Challenges Debate in Urology", Professor Zhou Liqun introduced the "Research Progress on UTUC-China and the World". Professor Gao Dong from Institute of Biochemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Liang Xingjie from National Nano science Center, Professor Qin Jun from Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Zhang Jing from Beihang University gave intriguing presentations illustrating the scientific frontier progress on cell lineage, epigenetic regulation, incidence and development mechanism and nano-drug application in prostate cancer and renal cancer. Professor Yu Wei from Peking University First Hospital, Professor He Liru from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, and Professor Chen Xingfa from our hospital gave speeches explicitly elaborating the immunological progress, radiotherapy and imaging diagnosis of urinary system tumors. In addition, urologists also delivered a heated debate on the therapeutic options for patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), renal cancer and bladder cancer.
At the branch venue of "Prostate Cancer, Renal Cancer, Urothelial Cancer and Comprehensive Video", Professor Wu Dapeng, and James Porter from Washington Swedish Medical Center gave surgical demonstrations on kidney dissection and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection for renal pelvis cancer. Professor Zhu Guodong conducted surgical demonstration on related surgical methods of bladder tumors and the application of abiraterone. Professor Wu Kaijie shared the progress on the second-line immunotherapy for advanced urothelial cancer. Professor Zhang Xu from Chinese PLA General Hospital, Professor Guo Hongqian from Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, Professor Wang Shuo from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and Professor Gao Xu from Shanghai Changhai Hospital shared their outstanding viewpoints regarding erectile function retain, urine control retain, lymph dissection and radical operation for complex prostate cancer .
Professor Chen Xingfa along with other physicians presided over the branch venue themed "Safety of Diagnosis and Treatment of Complex Urinary Calculi". Urologists shared their experience in the safety of flexible ureteroscopy, application of flexible ureteroscopy in urology, individualized treatment of upper urinary calculi, innovative design and application of intelligent pressure-controlled lithotripsy system and prevention and control strategies for perioperative complications of upper urinary calculi and showcased typical case reports.
Professor Du Yuefeng co-chaired the branch venue themed "Safety of Diagnosis and Treatment of Prostate Hyperplasia and Kick-off Meeting of Multi-center Clinical Trial". Professor He Dalin, Li Xudong and Yang Lin gave presentations on postoperative complications of BPH surgery, latest research progress on LUTS-OAB drug therapy and novel thinking on diagnosis and treatment of ED combined with LUTS-BPH,etc. Subsequently, the kick-off meeting of multi-center clinical trial of the application of mirabellon to improve OAB symptoms after BPH operation was launched.
During the branch venue of "Urinary Tract Reconstruction & Safety of Diagnosis and Treatment of Andrological Diseases", Professor Li Xuesong of Peking University First Hospital, Professor Chen Wei and Zhang Linlin from our hospital illustrated the treatment progress on the repair of upper urinary tract. Professor He Dalin, Professor Yao Haijun from Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University and Professor Li Peng from Shanghai Central Hospital gave speeches and delivered discussions on concealed penis surgery, minimally invasive surgery for andrological diseases and chronic prostatitis, respectively.
In the branch venue themed "Nursing Safety for Urological Diseases", 7 experts from 7 hospitals across China shared their excellent management experience and early identification highlights, delivered academic exchanges of "professional knowledge, excellent management and protection of clinical safety of patients" in the post-epidemic era among brother hospitals and attempted to further popularize and promote the brand-new concept of nursing in urology, aiming to promote the persistent advancement of urology talents, service, safety and quality.
