On October 11, 2020, the 1st Innovation and Translation of Medical Equipment 50 People Forum in conjunction with Annual Congress of Translational Medicine Branch of China Association of Medical Equipment was held in Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Beijing. At the congress, Magnetic Surgery Innovation Committee was established in the form of study group. Lyu Yi was appointed as the Chairman, Yan Xiaopeng, Shang Peng, Cong Haibo and Shi Yuan were appointed as the Vice Chairmen, Zhang Fuxian along with other 71 experts were appointed as the committee members.
Magnetic Surgery Innovation Committee is affiliated to Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). In the past 20 years, the team led by Professor Lyu Yi from XJTU has utilized magnets, magnetic fields, magnetic forces and proprietary anti-magnetic equipment to optimize and resolve a series of surgical technical problems, actively promoted the application of magnetic anastomosis, magnetic anchoring and magnetic navigation throughout China, completed the first cases by using magnetic surgery at home and abroad, first proposed the concept of magnetic surgery around the world, and established, continually expanded and optimized the system of magnetic surgery. In the recent two years, the innovative achievements by the team have also received extensive attention and professional guidance from China Association of Medical Equipment. On August 14, Li Weidong and Yan Qiuyu, Executive Vice Presidents of Translational Medicine Branch, delivered an inspection visit to XJTU. It is announced that Magnetic Surgery Innovation Committee is affiliated to XJTU, and Professor Lyu Yi serves as the Chairman, who is in charge of the establishment of Magnetic Surgery Innovation Committee.
Magnetic Surgery Innovation Committee will operate based on Beacon Institute of Magnetic Surgery, vigorously cultivateprofessional talents of magnetic surgery, strengthen global academic exchanges through International Conference of Magnetic Surgery as a link, actively promote the cooperation among hospitals, universities and enterprises, and accelerate the research and development of medical devices related to magnetic surgery. More than 30 members from all over the country highlighted that the establishment of Magnetic Surgery Innovation Committee is a historical event, and they will remain to devote themselves to the development of magnetic surgery.
