Since 2005, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) has classified pulmonary hypertension as an important specialized disease, and established the first specialized outpatient clinic for pulmonary hypertension in Northwest China in 2012. In 2016, the first Multidisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Center for Pulmonary Hypertension in western China was established relying on Department of Structural Heart Disease, which is one of the affiliations participating in drafting "2018 Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Pulmonary Hypertension" in China. It has held multiple national or local conferences on pulmonary hypertension each year. As an annual meeting, West-China MDT-PH Forum gathers prestigious professionals and experts in the fields of cardiovascular medicine, respiratory medicine, rheumatology and immunology, nursing and medical imaging to deliver academic lectures and specific guidance.
On October 6-7, 2020, "The 7th West-China MDT-PH Forum" was held as scheduled, focusing on the topics of MDT-PH. Under the guidance of Professor Hu Dayi, Professor Huang Lan and Professor Jing Zhicheng as pioneers in the field of cardiopulmonary vascular medicine in China, clinical experts and research fellows from the fields of congenital heart disease, rheumatic immune disease, left heart disease, lung disease and thrombotic disease were invited to share the latest knowledge, technologies, experience and guidelines for pulmonary vascular diseases, demonstrate the standardized application and assessment of standardized right heart catheterization, pulmonary hypertension assessment before congenital heart disease surgery, pulmonary nerve ablation, pulmonary balloon dilatation and stent implantation, discuss the difficulties and challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary vascular diseases, and guide the direction of standardized and precise diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension. Through multidisciplinary and multi-center case report and case debate, theoretical knowledge and clinical practice can be properly combined to elevate the quality of this forum to a new height.
In response to the national strategy of "Healthy China 2030", rehabilitation content of cardiopulmonary vascular diseases was supplemented in this forum, aiming to continually deliver clinical diagnosis and treatment and improve the long-term efficacy and quality of life of patients. The cardiopulmonary rehabilitation contents were also included on the basis of MDTconsultation. The 1st Chang 'an CPR Meeting was held simultaneously.
During the meeting, well-known cardiopulmonary rehabilitation experts in China were invited to give lectures, demonstrations and guidance on a wide range of topics covering the evaluation of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, the rehabilitation of patients with common cardiopulmonary vascular diseases and the practice of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, opening a new chapter for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation in Shaanxi province and even in the northwest China.
