On June 6, 2020, the 3rd National Varices Congress of Chinese Society of Microcirculation was successfully held online. This congress is hosted by the Expert Committee of Peripheral Vascular Diseases of Chinese Society of Microcirculation and Interventional Vascular Branch of Shaanxi Province Health Care Association, and organized by Department of Vascular Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi 'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and Department of Vascular Surgery of the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU. Professor Lu Shaoying from Department of Vascular Surgery of our hospital, and Professor Ma Jiancang from the Second Affiliated hospital of XJTU jointly served as Executive Chairman of the congress.

During this online meeting, nearly 70 prestigious experts and professors in the field of vascular surgery across China were invited to deliver keynote speeches and discussions on the diagnosis and treatment of varicose and related complications, as well as venous embolism and stenosis diseases. The total number of participants in the online congress unprecedentedly reached 120,000.
At the opening ceremony and Medical Humanity Forum, Professor Zheng Yuehong of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Professor Chen Xi from the Second Affiliated Hospital of XJTU, Professor Ji Yongwei from Center for Cerebrovascular Research of the University of California, and Vice President Liu Chang, Professor Chen Yunchun and Professor Yang Zhiping from our hospital delivered respective speeches and presentations. The congress consists of Medical Humanity Forum, Comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment of Varicose Forum and Varicose Complication Forum, Intracavitary Thermal Ablation for Varicose Forum, Micro-peeling/Foam Sclerosing Agent for Varicose Forum, Hemodynamic Therapy for Varicose Forum, Varicose Diagnosis and Treatment Forum for Young Physicians. Liu Jianlin, Director of Vascular Surgery, Professor Lu Shaoying, Professor Feng Jun, Associate Professor Yang Lin, and Physician Cai Hui and Attending Physician Wang Jichang delivered excellent keynote speeches in different forums, respectively.


Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this congress is held online, which is conducive to the participation of a wider range of physicians, especially medical staff in the grass-roots hospitals. The information exchange and interaction can better promote the novel concepts, technologies and guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of venous diseases.
