On the afternoon of May 15, the second session of the YouthTalk 3 · Young Elite Salon of the First Affiliated Hospital (FAH) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) was held in the Department of Ultrasound Medicine. Hosted by the Youth Work Department and the FAH’s Youth League Committee, and organized by the Youth League Branch of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine, the event specially invited Professor Dirk-André Clevert from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU Munich), Germany, to deliver a themed academic report.

Ruan Litao, Director of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine; Ren Fenggang, Head of the Youth Work Department and Secretary of the Youth League Committee; and Tai Minghui, Deputy Director of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine, attended the youth salon. Professor Yuan Quan, Director of the Department of Ultrasound at Shaanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, was invited to attend the event. Medical staff, researchers, young physicians and others from the FAH also participated.
The event was chaired by Tian Zhen, Secretary of the Youth League Branch of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine. Director Ruan Litao delivered remarks, Ren Fenggang introduced the “YouthTalk 3 · Young Elite Salon”, and Tai Minghui presented the development history, discipline-building achievements, and current clinical and research work of the FAH and the Department of Ultrasound Medicine.

Professor Dirk-André Clevert then gave a systematic presentation on “super-resolution contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging”, outlining the latest advances and clinical application prospects of this technology in microvascular imaging, early tumor diagnosis and treatment response assessment. He also presented research cases involving liver space-occupying lesions, microvascular imaging of small organs, and space-occupying lesions in superficial organs such as the testis, thyroid and breast. Participants actively raised questions on the technical principles, clinical application scenarios, and future research directions, and Professor Clevert answered each question patiently.

After the academic exchanges, Professor Dirk-André Clevert visited the Department of Ultrasound Medicine on site to learn about its equipment configuration, daily diagnosis and treatment procedures, and research platform development. He spoke highly of the department’s achievements in clinical practice and research in ultrasound medicine, and was invited to provide guidance on two breast contrast-enhanced ultrasound examinations. Professor Clevert also gave positive comments on the academic atmosphere and clinical strength of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine at the FAH. The two sides discussed possible future directions for scientific research collaboration and talent exchanges.

The salon further promoted academic exchanges and cooperation between China and Germany in the field of medical imaging, laying a solid foundation for deeper international cooperation in the future.
