On October 10, at the invitation of Yang Aimin, Director of Department of Nuclear Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Richard E. Carson, Director of PET Center of Yale University in the United States, Professor Henry Huang, Dr. Marko Tattalainen and Dr. Timo Laitinen from Turku PET Center in Finland visited our hospital for academic exchange.

Director Yang Aimin and Professor Gao Rui presided over the meeting. Clinicians and researchers in relevant specialties from our hospital, universities and affiliated hospitals in Shaanxi Province participated in the academic exchange. Wang Maode, Vice President of our hospital delivered a speech to introduce the recent development of the molecular imaging discipline in our hospital, hoping to promote the research progress of our hospital through such academic co-construction activities and further promote the construction of world’s first-class disciplines.

During the meeting, Richard E. Carson, Director of PET Center of Yale University, summarized the latest research results of the center in recent years, mainly focusing upon the clinical translation of various scientific researches related to SV2A PET imaging agent. Professor Henry Huang introduced the development of a novel PET tracer and its application in multiple neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and drug addiction,etc. In addition, Dr. Marko Tattalainen and Dr. Timo Laitinen from Turku PET Center in Finland illustrated the software development and solution of PET imaging data storage and analytic system of the center.

After the meeting, bilateral sides jointly delivered detailed plans for research cooperation in the future.
